Men’s Counseling Group in Northwest Arkansas

You’ve tried everything you can think of. Maybe it’s time for something new.

A structured 8-week program for men struggling with overthinking and self-doubt and want to create change with a sense of clarity and confidence.

This Isn’t a Venting Circle. It’s About Real Change.

You’re ready for change, but may feel uncertain how to make it happen.

You’ve thought about reaching out, or maybe someone in your life has suggested you could use support.

But one-on-one therapy feels like a big step — like you’re admitting defeat. It may also sound intense, sitting there across from a stranger who is asking you questions you’re not sure how to answer. Talk alone seems like it may not hold the answers to the change you want.

What if you could enter a space with others like you and know you’re not alone? What if therapy could draw on the strength of community rather than putting you alone on the spot?

What if therapy could feel structured, skills-focused, and practical instead of an endless discussion about feelings and forced vulnerability?

You’re Functioning, But It’s Costing You.

You’re making it work. You show up for the other people in your life and do what’s expected, but underneath that functioning you’re second-guessing yourself, mentally replaying past decisions, and overthinking choices for the future.

To others, you’re strong, reliable, and don’t complain — but it feels like a performance.

You want confidence and clarity that feels real, not like a performance.

The Man of ACT-ion Men’s Group

The Man of ACT-ion group is counseling group for men of all kinds based on the approaches and skills of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is a different approach to other therapy models you may have heard of that place a lot of focus on emotional processing or instruct you to label your thoughts and feelings as irrational. ACT is about approaching life with adaptability and focus on the things that matter to you so you can:

  • Respond with flexibility instead of rigid control

  • Get clear on your values and act on them

  • Strengthen attention and make intentional choices under pressure.

This group won’t just be endless talking in circles or some boring lecture series but a mix of learning, talking, and experience including:

  • Psychoeducation - We’ll introduce the concepts and psychology of the six core processes of ACT but quickly pivot to talking about them in real-world, understandable terms.

  • Experience - ACT is a model that is best learned by doing rather than talking. You’ll be guided through experiences and exercises to help make sense of the ideas that are introduced. There’ll be time for exploration, discovery, and even laughter when appropriate.

  • Discussion - We’ll talk about the experiences day as a group so you can support each other in seeing how the exercises and ideas can fit into your life.

  • Challenge - You’ll be challenged to carry what you learned that day out into your life between meetings to try it out. Meetings will include gentle accountability as well as brainstorming and support for when you feel stuck.

The Details

Who This is For

This group is for men who are functioning but feel mentally exhausted by overthinking the efforts to control everything around them looking for tools and ideas beyond insight alone. It’s for men who are open to practicing skills and supporting each other in that practice and willing to participate — even if cautiously.

This may not be a good fit for men seeking crisis stabilization, open-ended processing, or who don’t quite feel ready to explore a new way of living and acting.
